Testing underway at Barber Motorsports near Treasure Island Bed and Breakfast

Penske drivers, from left, Helio Castroneves, Ryan Briscoe and Will Power unveil their new cars
IndyCar launched its only preseason test of the year on Tuesday at Barber Motorsports Park with a Media Day, ushering drivers in and out of interviews and photo shoots.
On-track testing doesn’t start until Wednesday morning — assuming the weather cooperates. The forecast is calling for snow flurries overnight, which doesn’t bode well for a series where the tires need to operate in temperatures of at least 50 degrees.
The day was filled with a number of new driver announcements — for instance, Hideki Mutoh, who was with Andretti last year, is with Newman Haas Lanigan this year — and by Penske unveiling its new paint scheme. The iconic red Penske cars are gone this year, replaced by black and white paint schemes.
